Asetek - Jørgen Smidt at Sunstone to Rejoin the Board of Directors

04/30/2015

April 30, 2015 — Asetek® is pleased to announce that Jørgen Smidt, venture partner at Sunstone Capital, has rejoined the Asetek board of directors. Smidt served as a board member in Asetek from January 2012 to March 2013. Smidt will replace Bengt Olof Thuresson, who has served as board member since 2013.

“I am delighted to again take active part in the development of Asetek”, Smidt comments. “I have paid close attention to the company’s progress since the IPO period and in my view, Asetek is in a good position to gain a bigger foothold in the exiting data center business. The recent agreement with Fujitsu is a good example of that”.

Smidt adds, “Sunstone has the intention to be a long term shareholder in Asetek and through returning to the board of directors Sunstone will actively contribute to the development of Asetek in the years to come”.

Smidt brings to Asetek more than 25 years of international operational and business management experience from the mobile telecoms industry. He is currently venture partner at Sunstone Capital, Asetek’s largest shareholder, where he works with a broad range of IT investments, including Asetek. His business development expertise includes the analysis and implementation of investment and international marketing, market positioning and communication strategies.

Prior to joining Sunstone, Jørgen spent 13 years with Nokia as a senior manager for different Nokia business units. During this period, Jørgen lived and worked in many countries but ended up moving to San Francisco. Today he divides his time primarily between San Francisco and London. Jørgen holds an engineering degree in computer science from the Engineering College of Copenhagen.
