Diös acquires a property in central Umeå

06/28/2018

Diös is to acquire a commercial property on Vasagatan 12 in central Umeå, and thereby expands its existing portfolio in the Vale neighbourhood. The seller is Balticgruppen, and the underlying property value amounts to SEK 70 million. The change of possession is today, 28 June 2018.

The property acquired, Vale 18, has a total surface area of 2,200 sq.m. This acquisition complements Diös’ existing portfolio in the neighbourhood for which detailed planning work is currently in progress for the development of homes and commercial spaces. Kriminalvården (the Swedish Prison and Probation Service) is the largest tenant in the property.

The transaction takes form as company transaction and the result will be reported in the second quarter of 2018.

- This acquisition is a great complement to our existing properties in the neighbourhood and gives us better opportunities to develop the area with our future projects. We want to be a proactive property owner and drive urban development in Umeå, and thereby contribute to creating a modern and attractive city centre, says Lars-Göran Dahl, Head of Business Development, Diös.

- The deal is a positive development for Umeå and we are very happy to sell to Diös, who are very competent in urban development. This creates the conditions for them to build yet another attractive neighbourhood in the centre, which is significant when Umeå is growing and heading towards 200,000 residents, says David Carlsson, Deputy CEO, Balticgruppen.
